LivingPortrait

We all make choices that guide our actions and words and from those we create a picture with our lives that all people around us see. So with our painting, we send a message to those around us. The Founding fathers of our great nation left a painting with their actions and words that left a message of freedom and dependence on God and in a more tangible form, our nation, the United States of America. President Ronald Reagan’s message was that we are more than we appear, that we are a nation that is a “shinning city upon a hill” delivering the message of freedom and hope to the far corners of the earth. Jesus Christ used the canvas of His life to send us a message of a Father’s deep and unshakable love for His children, us.

My goal is to continue to deliver those messages with the portrait of my life, to be a LivingPortrait for all around to see. So my question for you, a LivingPortrait, is what are you painting on the canvas we call life? Are you painting with bright and brilliant colors that will send a message of hope and love for all that encounter you?

I hope this has made you think a little about the portrait you are creating. Make yours a wonderful image that will speak for generations to come and remember, we only have one shot at this, but that is all we really need. Thankfully when we do make accidental strokes or even tears across the canvas that are damaging and permanent, Jesus Christ can come in, and if we ask him, totally transform our blunders into a beautiful work of art, worthy to hang in the most prestigious museum of all, His kingdom.

So if you are reading this and you think that your life is too battered and broken to ever be fixed, worthy of only the trash bin, please consider meeting my friend whom I mentioned earlier. His name is Jesus, the Master painter. He first created you and if you ask, he will recreate you. He says, “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.”

He will do that for you. All you have to do is accept Him as the Lord of your life and believe that he paid the price for your sins by dying on a cross in our place. “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” If you want to do that and make Jesus the Lord of your life, pray this prayer. “Lord, I ask you to forgive me of my sins. Wash me clean by the sacrifice of you beloved Son, Jesus Christ. I believe He died for me and was raised from the dead. Thank you Lord for saving me.” If you just prayed that, God has heard you and he has given you a new life free from your past sins!
